Ten hotels within 6.5 km of the Cancún airport terminal, ranked using guest score, review volume and practical airport factors. Four have a confirmed free airport shuttle, rooms start at $46 for two, and the closest hotel to the terminal is the most expensive on the list.

What You Should Know

  • Only four of these ten list a free airport shuttle: Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and City Express, all US chain brands. Two charge for the transfer and three list no shuttle at all.
  • Proximity costs money and does not buy quality. The one hotel on airport land is the most expensive here at $115 and ranks seventh of ten; the $46 option scores half a point higher.
  • Cleanliness is the weakest category overall. The three lowest cleanliness scores in our sample of ten belong to chain hotels, at 6.74, 7.04 and 7.31, while the highest, 9.03, belongs to an independent.
  • Rooms run $46 to $115 for two on a one-night stay, the format most people actually book here. Eight of the ten also sell a room-plus-breakfast rate.

Hotels Near Cancún Airport: What Is Actually Close

The best hotel near Cancún airport on our data is Azcapri Villa Boutique & Spa: 9.2 out of 10 across 202 guest reviews, from $80 per night for two, 4.6 km north of the terminal. If a free airport shuttle is the priority, Fairfield Inn & Suites is our pick at $83, and City Express is the cheapest free-shuttle option at $73. The only hotel on airport land itself is the Hilton Garden Inn, 0.33 km from the terminal, from $115.

There is a catch that shapes all of it: hotels near Cancún airport are not one cluster but four, and the difference between them is a taxi fare. One hotel sits on airport land. Three more sit together on Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio, the access road running northeast toward the city, 2.6 to 2.8 km out. Four sit further north toward Cancún proper, 4.2 to 6.2 km. Two sit south on the Puerto Morelos road, useful only if you are driving down to the Riviera Maya the next morning.

We pulled every hotel, resort and aparthotel within 20 km of the terminal, which returned 489 properties, then narrowed to the 6.5 km band around the airport and priced what was left across five separate check-in dates. Ten came back bookable on all five with a guest score and a real review base. Those ten rest on 22,752 guest reviews and score between 7.6 and 9.2. Most people don't realize how uneven those review bases are: the Hilton Garden Inn's 8.1 rests on 5,757 reviews and Closetoairport's 8.6 on just 200, so the half-point gap between them is less certain than the ranking makes it look.

The finding that matters most for this search is the shuttle. A free airport shuttle is the single feature people look for here, and it is far from standard: four of the ten list one, two charge for it, one lists a free shuttle that is not identified as an airport service, and three list none. If you are landing after midnight or leaving before dawn, that distinction is the whole decision. Our Cancún airport transfer guide covers the paid options if your hotel has no shuttle.

Hotels Near Cancún Airport With a Free Shuttle

This is the section most people came for, so here is the direct answer. Of the ten hotels on this list, four list a free airport shuttle in the facility data our reservation system returns: Hilton Garden Inn Cancun Airport, Courtyard by Marriott Cancun Airport, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cancun Airport, and City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto. All four are US chain brands, which is probably a brand-standard effect rather than a coincidence, though with ten properties we would not read it as a rule for the city. What we can say is narrower and checkable: in this sample every confirmed free airport shuttle belongs to a chain, and none of the three properties listing no shuttle at all does.

What the shuttle data does and does not tell you

These flags come from the structured facility list our reservation system returns per property, where a free airport shuttle and a paid one are recorded as separate entries. That makes the free-or-paid split reliable. What the data does not include is a timetable: there is no field for shuttle hours, frequency, or whether it runs overnight. For a 5am flight that gap matters, so confirm the first run directly with the hotel rather than assuming a 24-hour service.

One property is genuinely ambiguous and we have not counted it as free. City Express Plus lists a free shuttle service but no airport-specific entry, so we cannot tell from the data whether that shuttle goes to the terminal. Two others, Comfort Inn Cancún Aeropuerto and the properties with no listing at all, are covered in the methodology note at the end.

Where to Stay Near Cancún Airport: The Four Clusters

On Airport Land: Under 1 km

One hotel only. The Hilton Garden Inn sits 0.33 km from the terminal on the Carretera Cancún-Chetumal, which makes it the shortest transfer available and the easiest answer for a pre-dawn departure. It is also the most expensive hotel on this list at $115 to $163 for two, roughly 2.5 times the cheapest option, and its 7.31 cleanliness score is the third-lowest here despite 5,757 reviews. You are paying for the 0.33 km, not for the room.

The Colosio Corridor: 2.6 to 2.8 km Northeast

Three hotels sit almost side by side on Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio, the road from the airport toward the city: City Express by Marriott at 2.63 km, Courtyard by Marriott at 2.68 km, and Fairfield Inn & Suites at 2.83 km. All three run a free airport shuttle and all three start between $73 and $83, rising to $96 to $100 in peak weeks. This is the cluster we would shortlist first for a normal flight connection, because it is the only one where a free shuttle, a real review base and a sub-$100 rate all overlap. The biggest difference between the three is not distance: they sit within 200 m of each other, so the choice comes down to service, where Courtyard leads at 9.33 against 9.01 and 8.95.

North Toward the City: 4.2 to 6.2 km

Four hotels, and the widest quality spread on this list. LOL-HA at 4.22 km, Azcapri at 4.61 km, Closetoairport at 4.96 km, and Hive Cancun at 6.19 km. Azcapri scores 9.2 and Closetoairport 8.6, the two highest on the page, while Hive at 7.6 is the lowest, so the cluster is not uniformly good. Closetoairport is also the cheapest at $46. The trade is transport: none of the four lists a free airport shuttle, so a taxi is part of the cost. Reviewers at Closetoairport describe the surrounding area as isolated after dark.

South Toward Puerto Morelos: 5.9 to 6.0 km

Two hotels on the Carretera Federal Cancún-Puerto Morelos: Avani Cancun Airport at 5.87 km and City Express Plus at 6.02 km. Both score well on location, 9.24 and 9.25, because they sit on the road you want if you are driving to Playa del Carmen or Tulum the next morning rather than into Cancún. Choosing this pair only makes sense in that direction; for a flight home it adds distance with no benefit. Our guide to the best hotels in Playa del Carmen covers the town an hour further south.

Where These Airport Hotels Are Located

The pins are numbered in the same order as the ranking and the comparison table, so pin 1 is Azcapri and pin 10 is Hive Cancun. What the map makes obvious is that "near the airport" splits four ways: one pin sits on airport land, three bunch together on the Colosio access road northeast, four spread north toward the city, and two sit south on the Puerto Morelos highway. The two southern pins are closer to Playa del Carmen than to Cancún's Hotel Zone, which is the reason to pick them or avoid them.

Compare Live Airport Hotel Prices

Prices come directly from our live hotel reservation system and reflect real-time rates for a sample one-night stay for two adults, not generic “from” prices.

One night is the realistic format here: most people book an airport hotel as a stopover before an early flight or after a late arrival, so a three-night sample would misrepresent what you actually pay.

Best Hotels Near Cancún Airport: Our Full Picks

Azcapri Villa Boutique & Spa

Rated 9.2/10 across 202 guest reviews, Azcapri is the highest-scoring hotel in the airport band on our data and our pick overall. Service scores a perfect 10.0, the only one on this list to do so, alongside 9.53 for overall experience, 9.5 for location, 9.49 for amenities and 9.03 for cleanliness. It sits 4.61 km north of the terminal on Calle Niños Héroes with a pool and an on-site cenote, and sells room-only. From $80 per night for two. The caveats are consistent: reviewers mention the access road, rooms they felt could use more decoration, and noise from neighbouring guests. The bigger practical catch is that no shuttle is listed, so add a taxi to the $80. We'd book this if the room matters more than the transfer, and we'd price the taxi both ways before comparing it against the free-shuttle hotels at $83.

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cancun Airport

Rated 8.4/10 across 3,801 guest reviews, Fairfield is our pick if a free airport shuttle is non-negotiable. It has the second-deepest review base here and the most balanced category profile of the chain hotels: 8.99 location, 8.95 service, 8.47 amenities, 8.43 value and 7.98 cleanliness. It sits 2.83 km out on Boulevard Colosio and sells room-only or room-plus-breakfast, from $83. Reviewers praise the proximity and the staff, and the recurring complaint is specific and worth planning around: long waits for the shuttle bus. We would treat the shuttle as a 20-minute variable rather than an on-demand service.

Courtyard by Marriott Cancun Airport

Rated 8.4/10 across 2,486 guest reviews, Courtyard posts a 9.33 for service, the best of any chain hotel on this list, plus 8.83 for overall experience and 8.81 for value. It is 2.68 km from the terminal, effectively next door to the Fairfield, runs a free airport shuttle, and starts at $83. Cleanliness at 7.86 is mid-pack and reviewers flag the breakfast specifically. Between this and the Fairfield at the same price and the same distance, we would give Courtyard the edge on service (9.33 against 8.95) and the Fairfield the edge on review volume, which is the more honest tiebreak if you want predictability.

Closetoairport

Rated 8.6/10 across 200 guest reviews, this is the cheapest bed on the list at $46 per night for two, and the number that makes the page interesting: it scores half a point higher than the $115 hotel at the terminal. Service scores 9.15, room quality 8.64, amenities 8.67 and cleanliness 8.18, all comfortably above the chain average here. It is 4.96 km north of the terminal on Calle José María Morelos and sells room-only. The name oversells the proximity, and two things need saying: no shuttle is listed, and reviewers describe the area as isolated at night. We would book this for a daytime connection, not a 2am arrival.

Avani Cancun Airport

Rated 8.4/10 across 982 guest reviews, Avani has the best cleanliness score of any four-star here at 8.23, plus 9.24 for location and 9.2 for service. It sits 5.87 km south of the terminal on the Puerto Morelos highway and sells room-only or breakfast, from $74. Reviewers flag food quality and question the value against nearby options. The airport shuttle carries a charge, which undercuts its main selling point. We'd only choose this if you are driving south to the Riviera Maya the next morning, because that is the direction it actually saves you.

LOL-HA Cancún Hotel Boutique

Rated 8.2/10 across 1,869 guest reviews, LOL-HA is the cheapest three-star with a real review base, from $57 per night for two, and it reads as a genuine boutique rather than a roadside stopover: 8.88 service, 8.4 amenities, 8.37 room quality and 8.36 value. It is 4.22 km north of the terminal. The weakness is the one that matters most on this page: location scores 7.42, the lowest figure here, and the recurring complaint is difficult access during rain. The airport shuttle is paid. We like this for a relaxed pre-flight night, not a tight connection.

Hilton Garden Inn Cancun Airport

Rated 8.1/10 across 5,757 guest reviews, the largest review base on this list by a wide margin, this is the only hotel on airport land at 0.33 km from the terminal, and it runs a free shuttle. Location scores 8.82, food 8.31 and amenities 8.3. It is also the most expensive here at $115 to $163 for two. The category scores explain why it places seventh rather than first: cleanliness 7.31 and value for money 7.26 are both bottom-three figures on this page, and the recurring complaints are slow check-in, dirty towels and uncomfortable beds. The one scenario we'd pay this premium for is an itinerary where 0.33 km genuinely decides whether you make the flight.

City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto

Rated 7.9/10 across 4,433 guest reviews, this is the cheapest of the four free-shuttle hotels at $73 per night for two, 2.63 km from the terminal and the closest of the Colosio trio. Location scores 9.05, service 9.01 and overall experience 8.51, and reviewers name the free shuttle as a specific positive rather than a listed amenity. The weaknesses are real: cleanliness scores 7.04 and food 6.54, the lowest of the three Colosio hotels, and overbooking recurs in the review data. We'd choose this for the shuttle and the price, and we'd reconfirm the reservation the week before.

City Express Plus by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto Riviera

Rated 7.8/10 across 1,794 guest reviews, this sits 6.02 km south of the terminal beside the Avani on the Puerto Morelos road, and posts a 9.25 location score, second only to Azcapri on this list, which reflects the southbound position rather than airport proximity. Service scores 8.71. Cleanliness at 6.74 is the lowest figure anywhere on this page and the recurring complaints are cleanliness and breakfast quality. It lists a free shuttle service, but the facility data does not identify it as an airport service, so we have not counted it among the four confirmed. From $79. We wouldn't choose this for a flight home: the 9.25 location score is measuring the road south rather than the terminal, and on cleanliness it is the weakest property in this guide.

Hive Cancun by G Hotels

Rated 7.6/10 across 1,228 guest reviews, Hive is the furthest hotel on this list at 6.19 km, sitting on Avenida Huayacán where the restaurants and shops are within walking distance, which is the one thing no other hotel here offers. Overall experience scores 9.0 and cleanliness 8.0, better than several chains. But service scores 6.5, the weakest figure on this page, and food 6.0; reviewers report inattentive or aggressive staff and charges they did not expect. From $67, with a rooftop pool. We see this as a good fit if you want dinner within walking distance and can tolerate uneven service.

What to Expect at a Cancún Airport Hotel

  • Confirm the shuttle hours, not just the shuttle: Four of these ten list a free airport shuttle, but the facility data carries no timetable. There is no field for first run, last run, or frequency. If your flight leaves at 6am, ask the hotel directly what time the first shuttle departs rather than assuming a 24-hour service. From what we've seen in reviews and operator details, the shuttle is the field most likely to differ from what a booking page implies, so we treat the missing hours as something to confirm by phone rather than assume.
  • Book one night, not three: Airport hotels here are stopovers, and our sample prices reflect a single night for two adults. Rates on this list run $46 to $115 for that one night, and the cheapest options are room-only.
  • Cleanliness is the weakest category, and worth checking property by property: Three of the ten score below 7.5, and in our sample those three are all chain hotels: City Express Plus at 6.74, City Express at 7.04, and the Hilton Garden Inn at 7.31. The remaining seven range from 7.86 to 9.03.
  • Distance is straight-line, and the drive is longer: Every figure on this page measures to the main terminal in a straight line. The road route from the Colosio corridor doubles back to the airport entrance, so a 2.6 km hotel is not a 2.6 km drive.
  • Eight of the ten sell breakfast as a separate rate: Only Azcapri and Closetoairport are room-only. Breakfast is worth taking where the food score supports it, and on this list that is a short list: the best food score among the eight selling it is 8.31 at the Hilton Garden Inn, and Hive at 6.0 is the clearest case for eating elsewhere.
  • The northern cluster holds the best and the worst: The four hotels 4.2 to 6.2 km north include the two highest-scoring properties here and also the lowest, Hive at 7.6. Reviewers at Closetoairport describe the area as isolated after dark, and LOL-HA draws complaints about access during heavy rain.
  • Two of these are pointed the wrong way for a flight home: Avani and City Express Plus sit south on the Puerto Morelos highway. Their 9.24 and 9.25 location scores come from being on the road to Playa del Carmen and Tulum, not from being near the terminal.
  • Getting to the Hotel Zone is a separate trip: None of these hotels is walkable to a beach. The Hotel Zone begins roughly 17 km from the terminal, so if you want sand rather than a stopover, our best hotels in Cancún guide covers that market instead.

How Much a Cancún Airport Hotel Actually Costs

These ten priced between $46 and $163 per night for two adults on a one-night stay across the five check-in dates we sampled. All figures are before local taxes and fees, which the booking site adds at checkout and which can add roughly 20%.

Cheap Hotels Near Cancún Airport: Under $80

Six of the ten start under $80 for two: Closetoairport from $46, LOL-HA from $57, Hive Cancun from $67, City Express by Marriott from $73, Avani from $74 and City Express Plus from $79. Guest scores in this group run 7.6 to 8.6, and it contains both the cheapest bed and the second-highest score on the page. Only one of the six, City Express, has a confirmed free airport shuttle, so for the other five the taxi is part of the real cost.

The Colosio corridor: from $73, peaking at $100

City Express from $73, Courtyard from $83 and Fairfield Inn from $83, reaching $96 to $100 at peak. This is the only cluster where a free shuttle, a four-figure review base and a sub-$100 starting rate all coincide. Scores run 7.9 to 8.4.

The terminal premium: $115

Hilton Garden Inn only, from $115 to $163. That is $69 more than the cheapest bed on this list and $42 more than the nearest free-shuttle alternative, City Express, 2.3 km further out. What the premium buys is 0.33 km and nothing else: on guest score it ranks seventh of ten, and on cleanliness and value for money it is bottom three.

What to budget beyond the room

The taxi is the line item that decides whether a cheap room is actually cheap. Six of these ten have no confirmed free airport shuttle, and an airport taxi in Cancún is a fixed-zone fare rather than a meter, so the $46 room 4.96 km out and the $83 room with a free shuttle 2.83 km out can land much closer together than the headline prices suggest. Add breakfast if you are taking it, and remember that the 20% in taxes and fees applies to the room rate, so it scales with the premium you pay for proximity. What matters more than the nightly rate is whether the hotel moves you to the terminal for free.

From Our Experience

What we consistently see is that the free-shuttle question is only half the decision. The facility data confirms whether a shuttle costs money but never when it runs, and a hotel 2.6 km out whose first departure is 7am is no use for a 6am flight.

Tips for Booking a Hotel Near Cancún Airport

  • Decide whether you are buying a shuttle or a bed: That single question sorts this list. If you want the shuttle, the four confirmed options are Hilton Garden Inn, City Express, Courtyard and Fairfield Inn, starting at $73 to $115. If you want the best room for the money, the top-scoring options are north of the airport with no shuttle at all.
  • Ask for the first shuttle departure in writing: The facility data confirms free or paid but carries no hours. A hotel 2.6 km away with a shuttle that starts at 7am is useless for a 6am flight, and that is not a detail you can check from a booking page.
  • Do not pay the terminal premium unless the clock demands it: The Hilton Garden Inn costs $115 against $73 for a free-shuttle hotel 2.3 km further out, and it scores lower on cleanliness and value. The 0.33 km is worth it for a genuinely tight connection and not much else.
  • Check the cleanliness score, not the brand: In our sample of ten, the three lowest cleanliness scores belong to chain hotels and the remaining seven range from 7.86 to 9.03. On this evidence brand familiarity is not a reliable proxy for room condition here.
  • Skip the southern pair unless you are driving south: Avani and City Express Plus score 9.24 and 9.25 on location, but that reflects the Puerto Morelos road. For a flight out they add distance without adding value.
  • Reconfirm City Express the week before: Overbooking appears as a recurring complaint in its 4,433 reviews. It is still the cheapest free-shuttle option, and a reconfirmation costs nothing.
  • Take room-only where the food score is weak: Food scores here top out at 8.31 and bottom out at 6.0. Eight of the ten sell breakfast separately, so it is a real choice rather than a bundled cost.
  • Landing very late? Weight the shuttle and the neighbourhood, not the price: Reviewers describe the area around Closetoairport as isolated after dark, and the northern cluster has no shuttle. For a post-midnight arrival the Colosio corridor is the more sensible bet.
  • Heading onward rather than home? Our Cancún airport transfer guide compares private transfers, and our guide to the best hotels in Tulum covers the market two hours south if the airport night is just a staging post.
  • Flying out of a lounge? Our Cancún airport VIP lounge guide covers what is available terminal by terminal, which pairs naturally with an early shuttle and a long wait.

Why Our Rankings Are Different

Most “hotels near Cancún airport” lists are ordered by how close each hotel claims to be, with no way to check the claim. This one started from live inventory and measured the distance ourselves. We pulled every hotel, resort, aparthotel and hostel within 20 km of the main terminal, which returned 489 unique properties, and computed the straight-line distance from the terminal to each one rather than relying on the provider's own distance field, which turned out to be too coarse to use: it reported the same 1.5 km figure for two hotels that are 2.5 km apart from each other.

From there: 51 properties sit within 6.5 km of the terminal. Removing single-room and apartment listings left 26, and removing duplicate records for the same property left 24. Twenty of those carry a guest score, and 12 clear our bar of 7.5 or higher on at least 100 guest reviews. Of those 12, exactly two never returned a bookable rate, so the ten below are simply what is left. No cutoff was applied to reach ten.

The ranking rule, stated plainly: we rank primarily on guest satisfaction, then adjust for review volume and practical airport factors. Shuttle availability is treated as a separate traveler need rather than something that automatically lifts a hotel up the list, which is why the top-ranked property has no shuttle and the best free-shuttle option is ranked second. If a free transfer is your deciding factor, read the shuttle section above as the primary ranking and this one as the quality ranking.

Seven inputs go into this guide:

  • Distance to the terminal: straight-line kilometres from the main terminal cluster, computed from each property's coordinates. Straight-line, not driving, so every figure understates the drive.
  • Guest score: the aggregate guest rating out of 10 as returned by our reservation system, not a star classification. Stars are listed separately, and one property here carries no star rating, shown as unrated rather than guessed.
  • Review volume: how many guest reviews that score rests on, from 5,757 at the Hilton Garden Inn down to 200 at Closetoairport. The final order weights score against volume rather than using either alone, the same method as our other Riviera Maya lodging guides.
  • Airport shuttle status: taken from the structured facility list per property, where a free airport shuttle and a paid one are separate entries. Four list free, two list paid, one lists a free shuttle not identified as an airport service, and three list none. The data carries no shuttle hours, and we say so rather than implying a 24-hour service.
  • Category scores: separate ratings for cleanliness, service, location, room quality, amenities, value and food. Cleanliness has the widest spread here and runs against brand expectations, so we report it property by property.
  • Live inventory, priced as one night: whether we held bookable availability on all five sampled check-in dates, priced for a single night for two adults rather than three, because that is how an airport hotel is actually used.
  • Honest weaknesses: where the review data shows a recurring complaint, it is in the write-up. Three of these ten score below 7.5 on cleanliness and one scores 6.5 on service, and we say so next to the price.

Four properties inside the 6.5 km band are worth naming as deliberate omissions. Jungle Lodge Cancún Aeropuerto scores 9.5 across 254 reviews and would have ranked first, but it returned no bookable rate on any of 19 separate date-and-length probes; Villa Palmeras, at 7.9 across 621 reviews, returned none either. Hyatt Place Cancun Airport is bookable from $81 and lists free airport transportation, but carries zero guest reviews in our system, so there is nothing to rank it on. Comfort Inn Cancún Aeropuerto is the fourth-closest property to the terminal at 2.56 km and cheap, but it scores 6.6 overall with a cleanliness score of 4.0, the lowest we found in the band, against recurring complaints about stained linens and non-working amenities. Pricing and shuttle status were checked in August 2026 and reflect two adults for one night before the local taxes and fees added at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best hotel near Cancun airport?+

Azcapri Villa Boutique & Spa ranks first, with a 9.2/10 guest score across 202 reviews and rates from $80 per night for two. Service scores a perfect 10.0, the only property on our list to do so, alongside 9.5 for location and 9.03 for cleanliness. It sits 4.61 km north of the terminal and sells room-only, and no shuttle is listed, so budget for a taxi. If you need a free airport shuttle instead, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is our pick at $83.

Which hotels near Cancun airport have a free shuttle?+

Four of the ten hotels in this guide list a free airport shuttle in our reservation system's facility data: Hilton Garden Inn Cancun Airport from $115, City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto from $73, Courtyard by Marriott Cancun Airport from $83, and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cancun Airport from $83. All four are US chain brands. Two more charge for the airport transfer, and three list no shuttle at all. The facility data does not include shuttle hours, so confirm the first departure with the hotel if you have an early flight.

How close is the nearest hotel to Cancun airport?+

Hilton Garden Inn Cancun Airport is the only hotel on airport land, 0.33 km from the main terminal in a straight line, and it runs a free shuttle. It is also the most expensive property in this guide, from $115 to $163 per night for two, and it ranks seventh of ten on guest score with a cleanliness score of 7.31. The next closest cluster is three hotels on Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio at 2.63 to 2.83 km, all with free shuttles and all starting between $73 and $83.

How much does a hotel near Cancun airport cost?+

The hotels in this guide run from $46 to $163 per night for two adults on a one-night stay, which is the format most people book here. Six start under $80, and the cheapest is Closetoairport at $46. The three free-shuttle hotels on the Colosio corridor start at $73 to $83 and peak around $100, and the one hotel on airport land starts at $115. These are pre-tax rates and local taxes and fees are added at checkout, typically around 20%.

Is it worth staying at the airport hotel instead of one a few kilometres away?+

Only if a very tight connection makes the difference. The Hilton Garden Inn at 0.33 km costs $115 against $73 for City Express 2.63 km away, and both run a free shuttle. On guest score the Hilton Garden Inn ranks seventh of ten, and its cleanliness (7.31) and value for money (7.26) scores are both bottom three in this guide. The $42 gap buys distance, not a better room, so we would pay it for a pre-dawn departure and not otherwise.

Are there cheap hotels near Cancun airport?+

Yes, and the cheap end is not the weak end. Six of the ten in this guide start under $80 for two: Closetoairport from $46, LOL-HA Cancún Hotel Boutique from $57, Hive Cancun from $67, City Express by Marriott from $73, Avani from $74 and City Express Plus from $79. Closetoairport scores 8.6, the second-highest on the list. The catch is transport: only City Express among those six has a confirmed free airport shuttle, so factor a taxi into the other five.

Do hotels near Cancun airport include breakfast?+

Eight of the ten sell a room-plus-breakfast rate alongside a room-only rate, so breakfast is a separate choice rather than a bundled cost. Azcapri Villa Boutique & Spa and Closetoairport are room-only. Whether breakfast is worth paying for is a low bar here: the best food score among the eight that sell it is 8.31 at the Hilton Garden Inn, and Hive Cancun scores 6.0, the lowest, so there it is better to pay room-only.

Can you walk to a beach from a Cancun airport hotel?+

No. None of the hotels in this guide is within walking distance of a beach. Cancún's Hotel Zone begins roughly 17 km from the terminal, and the four hotels north of the airport sit in residential and commercial parts of the city rather than on the coast. An airport hotel here is a stopover for an early flight or a late arrival; if you want a beach, book the Hotel Zone or the Riviera Maya instead.

Which hotel near Cancun airport is best for driving to the Riviera Maya?+

Avani Cancun Airport from $74 and City Express Plus by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto Riviera from $79, both on the Carretera Federal Cancún-Puerto Morelos 5.87 and 6.02 km south of the terminal. They post 9.24 and 9.25 for location, behind only Azcapri, because they sit on the road toward Playa del Carmen and Tulum rather than toward Cancún. Avani has the better cleanliness score at 8.23 against 6.74, and both charge for or do not confirm an airport shuttle.
