Coco Bongo Cancún is a 2,500-capacity show club at km 9.5 of the Hotel Zone, open nightly 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Here are the official 2026 ticket prices by night, what Regular, Premium, Gold Member and Front Row include, the dress code, ID rules, hidden costs and whether it is worth it.

What You Should Know

  • Coco Bongo Cancún sells five ticket tiers on its own site, and the price depends on the night. On the dates we checked, the open-bar Regular ticket ran $90 Monday to Wednesday and $125 on Friday, and Front Row ran $195 to $210.
  • The venue opens at 9:00 PM and closes at 3:00 AM every night. Gold Member and Front Row seats are handed out by staff on arrival, so the earlier you arrive, the better your seat.
  • It is strictly 18 and over with official photo ID, and the dress code is smart casual: no beach sandals, swim shorts, sports jerseys or beachwear.
  • Tips are not included in any ticket. Official reservations are non-refundable, with date changes allowed up to 48 hours before.

Coco Bongo Cancún: The Short Answer

Coco Bongo Cancún is a show club at km 9.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán, in Plaza Forum by the Sea in Punta Cancún. It mixes a Las Vegas-style variety show (acrobats, movie and music tributes, a famous The Mask number) with an open-bar nightclub. It opens nightly from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM, admits only adults 18 and over, and tickets start at $70 on the official site.

The show is the reason to go. The cost, the crowd and the entry process are the reasons people come away disappointed. The venue holds about 2,500 people, most general tickets are standing room on the main floor, and the most common complaints in 2026 reviews are long lines, crushes on busy nights and steady pressure to upgrade to a table. If you know that going in, and pick your night and ticket with care, it is one of the most memorable nights out in Mexico.

This guide covers Coco Bongo tickets and what each tier includes, the official 2026 prices by night, what time it opens and when the show starts, the dress code and ID rules, tipping and the costs nobody mentions, the newer daytime Beach Party, the Playa del Carmen club, and how to get there and home safely. Coco Bongo sits on the same Punta Cancún strip as Señor Frog's, Mandala and the other big clubs, a short walk from the free public beach at Playa Gaviota Azul.

Coco Bongo Tickets and Prices for 2026

Coco Bongo sells tickets on its own website in US dollars, and it now prices by night of the week. Sunday to Wednesday is cheaper than Thursday to Saturday, and the cheapest options appear only early in the week. We checked the official ticket system for 15 dates between October 15, 2026 and March 16, 2027. The prices below were the same on every date we checked for that night of the week.

ℹ️ Prices per person in USD from the official Coco Bongo ticket system, checked on October 14, 2026 for 15 dates between October 15, 2026 and March 16, 2027. Tips are not included. On all four Saturdays we checked (October 24, November 14 and December 26, 2026, and January 16, 2027) the Regular ticket was not available to book online. Prices are dynamic and can change; confirm on the official site before you go.

A few things the table does not show. The Regular ticket is the classic open-bar entry, and it is the one that disappears first: on the Saturdays we checked, the cheapest way in online was Premium at $140. A Double Party ticket at $99, bookable for Monday to Wednesday nights, adds general entry to the daytime Beach Party (Tuesday to Sunday) with a domestic open bar at each. On top of the five tiers, VIP tables for four start at $750 for a promo table and run $1,176, $1,765 and $2,353 for the three table zones, each including a drinks credit, bottle service with a waiter and a separate entrance.

New Year's Eve is priced separately. The NYE 2027 Regular ticket starts at $170 for the first 100 early-bird tickets and steps up in releases to $260; NYE Front Row runs $450 to $500, and Gold Member starts at $270.

Buying direct versus a reseller. Coco Bongo packages are also sold through tour companies and the big booking sites, often bundled with hotel transport. The Cancún ticket packages we checked on those sites rate between 3.1 and 3.9 out of 5, well below what we normally recommend. Reading their 2026 reviews, the recurring complaint is less about the show than the handover: bookings the door could not find, guests waiting an hour while staff phoned the reseller, and Gold seats lost because seating goes by arrival time. Buying on cocobongo.com puts you directly on the venue's list. The tradeoff is the refund policy: official reservations are non-refundable (you can request a date change up to 48 hours before), while some resellers offer free cancellation.

Entry level$70 to $125

Drink Pack and Regular

Standard access to the main floor, mostly standing. The Drink Pack (Monday to Wednesday only) includes 5 domestic drinks. Regular adds an unlimited open bar from the standard menu from 8:30 PM to 2:15 AM and one snack (mini burgers, mini hot dogs or fries).

Better drinks$125 to $140

Premium

The same standard access as Regular, but the unlimited open bar pours from the premium menu (imported labels) from 8:30 PM to 2:15 AM, plus one snack. No reserved seat, so you still stand on the main floor.

Most booked VIP$160 to $170

Gold Member

VIP entrance and expedited access, a pre-show at Bongo Bar with drinks from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, the premium open bar to 2:15 AM, a snack, and a reserved seat in the Gold Member areas (not the front row). Seats are allocated as you arrive.

Best view$195 to $210

Front Row

Everything in Gold Member plus personalised service and a seat in the front row of the Gold Member areas, which the venue describes as unobstructed. Staff assign front-row seats on arrival by zone map; nothing is pre-assigned.

Our take: Premium is rarely worth it over Regular unless imported spirits matter to you, because you get the same standing spot. If you want a seat, Gold Member is the sensible upgrade, and arriving early matters more than paying the extra for Front Row.

What Time Does Coco Bongo Open and Start?

  1. 017:30 PM

    Bongo Bar pre-show

Gold Member and Front Row only: VIP entrance, drinks included at Bongo Bar until 8:30 PM. Seats are allocated as guests arrive.

  2. 028:30 PM

    Check-in and open bar

Check-in opens and the open bar starts for Regular, Premium and VIP tickets. Bring the physical ID that matches your booking.

  3. 039:00 PM

    Doors open

The main room opens. Standing spots near the stage on the main floor go first, especially Thursday to Saturday.

  4. 049:30 to 10:30 PM

    Show begins

The showcase starts at 9:30 PM per the ticket descriptions; the official FAQ puts the main acts at 10:30 PM to 2:30 AM. Acts alternate with DJ sets and video segments.

  5. 052:15 AM

    Open bar closes

The included open bar ends at 2:15 AM on Regular, Premium, Gold Member and Front Row tickets.

  6. 063:00 AM

    Venue closes

Music runs to closing. Arrange your ride home before you go in; taxis and ride-hailing apps work the boulevard.

Coco Bongo Cancún opens at 9:00 PM and closes at 3:00 AM, seven nights a week, according to the venue's own booking system, with check-in from 8:30 PM. The show and the party together last about five hours. The official sources disagree on exactly when the main show begins: the ticket descriptions say the showcase starts at 9:30 PM, "subject to change by season", while the official FAQ says the main acts run from 10:30 PM to 2:30 AM and suggests arriving between 10:00 and 10:30 PM.

In practice, plan around your ticket. Gold Member and Front Row guests get the Bongo Bar pre-show from 7:30 PM and are seated in order of arrival, so they should be in line by about 7:30 PM. For a good standing spot on the main floor, arrive by about 8:30 PM. Arriving at 10:30 PM works if you just want the party and do not mind the back of the room, but expect the longest lines then on Thursday to Saturday.

ℹ️ Times as published by Coco Bongo on October 14, 2026. The showcase start "may vary according to the season", so check the time on your ticket.

Coco Bongo Dress Code

The official Coco Bongo dress code is smart casual (casual elegante). The venue's FAQ rules out beach sandals, swim shorts, sports jerseys and beachwear, and lists jeans, closed shoes and shirts or blouses as suitable. In other words: what you would wear to a nice dinner, not what you wore to the pool.

  • Shoes: closed shoes are the safe choice. You may be on your feet for five hours in a packed room with spilled drinks, so comfortable beats tall.
  • Men: jeans or chinos with a shirt or a smart T-shirt is fine. Skip tank tops, team jerseys and board shorts.
  • Women: dresses, skirts and jeans all work. Be aware that a long-running segment invites women from the crowd on stage, and one 2026 reviewer objected to a stunt that blows up skirts on the big screens; you can simply decline if asked up.
  • Bags and phones: carry as little as possible. A phone strap or grip helps, since drops in the crowd are common. Lockers cost extra.

Coco Bongo Age Limit and ID Rules

Coco Bongo Cancún is 18 and over, every night, and the official FAQ says you must show valid official photo ID at the entrance. Mexico's drinking age is 18, so US visitors aged 18 to 20 can get in and use the open bar. Bring the physical document (a passport, or a national ID or driving licence); a photo of it on your phone is a gamble.

For families, Coco Bongo runs a separate afternoon Kids Party on scheduled dates only. When we checked, two dates were on sale (October 24 and 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM), with tickets from $55 for general access, $87 with a Gold Member seat and $120 in the front row. Minors get a non-alcoholic open bar and adults a domestic one. If it is not scheduled during your stay, the under-18s cannot go to the night show.

Tipping and Hidden Costs at Coco Bongo

Every official Coco Bongo ticket says "tip not included", and tipping shapes how your night goes more than people expect. The open bar is included, but the speed at which drinks reach you is not. One 2026 guide to the club suggests tipping your server or bartender 100 to 200 pesos at the start of the night, and several 2026 reviewers of Gold Member tickets describe having to tip "constantly" to keep drinks coming. Bring small peso notes.

  • Table and seat upsells: the most repeated complaint in recent reviews is staff pressing guests to buy a table or upgrade once inside, sometimes for several hundred dollars. You do not have to. Decide before you go what you are willing to spend.
  • Skip-the-line offers: reviewers describe paid queue-jump offers on busy nights. The official site sells an Express Pass add-on for $15; Gold Member and Front Row already include expedited VIP entry. If a ticket you bought elsewhere promised to skip the line, check what it actually includes.
  • Bottles and drink credits: anything beyond the open bar costs extra, and bottles and drink credits on the official site carry an automatic 15% service charge, so a $100 drink credit costs $115.
  • Food: the included snack is mini burgers, mini hot dogs or fries, not dinner. Eat beforehand. The Cancún food tours guide covers evening taco tours that finish in time.
  • Lockers and cameras: lockers cost extra, and professional cameras are prohibited without prior authorization. Phone photos and videos are allowed.
  • Getting home: transport is not part of any Cancún ticket. Budget for a taxi or ride-hailing app at 3:00 AM.

The venue takes Visa, Mastercard and Amex, plus cash in pesos or US dollars. Pay in pesos where you can: dollar prices at a bar or a taxi rank rarely use a good exchange rate.

If you would rather spend on a night out with fewer surprises, the three below are all rated 4.7 or higher and price drinks or dinner in up front: a hip hop boat party with an open bar (noon or 4:00 PM departures, 18+), the Xoximilco Mexican fiesta on painted boats through the canals with live mariachi and an open bar of tequila and beer, and a 5:00 PM taco tour with hotel transport that has you fed well before Coco Bongo's doors open.

Is Coco Bongo Worth It?

Coco Bongo is worth it if you want a big, loud, once-in-a-trip show night and you go in with realistic expectations. The production is the real thing: aerial acrobats, costume-heavy tributes and a crowd that is there to party. Reviewers who loved it consistently mention the energy and the show itself, and plenty say they would go back.

It is not worth it if you dislike crowds, standing for hours or being sold to. The criticisms in 2026 reviews are consistent:

  • Crowding: on busy nights the main floor is packed shoulder to shoulder and hot. Reviewers describe being "pushed around" by staff clearing space between acts.
  • Lines: waits of 30 minutes to over an hour at the door are common on Friday and Saturday, even for some VIP tickets.
  • Seat quality: Gold Member seating is first come, first served, and some late arrivals ended up behind a pillar or high in a back corner with a poor view of the stage.
  • Pacing: the acts are interspersed with DJ sets and video clips, and a few guests felt there was more screen than stage.

Our take: go on a Sunday to Wednesday night, buy the Regular ticket if you are happy to stand and dance, or Gold Member if you want a seat, and arrive early either way. If your group is more into the party than the show, a daytime hip hop boat party or the strip's guided club crawl may suit you better. Note that the crawl's clubs are Señor Frog's, Mandala, La Vaquita and, on some nights, Rakata or D'Cave: Coco Bongo is not on it.

Best Night to Go to Coco Bongo

Coco Bongo Cancún runs the same show every night, so the best night comes down to price, crowd and what you want from it.

  • Monday to Wednesday: the cheapest nights. The Regular ticket is $90 and the $70 Drink Pack and $99 Double Party with the Beach Party are only offered then. Crowds are lighter, which means better standing spots and shorter lines.
  • Sunday: premium tiers cost the same as Monday to Wednesday ($125, $160 and $195), and Regular is $100.
  • Thursday and Friday: the build to the weekend. Everything above Regular costs $10 to $15 more, and the Regular ticket is $125 on Friday.
  • Saturday: the busiest and most expensive night. On every Saturday we checked, the Regular ticket was not bookable online, so the cheapest way in was Premium at $140. Book early.

By season, March is the loudest month, when Spring Break fills Punta Cancún; our Cancún in March guide covers what that does to crowds and prices. Christmas to New Year's is the other peak, with New Year's Eve sold as a separate, pricier event.

Coco Bongo Beach Party: The Daytime Venue

Coco Bongo now has a daytime venue in the Hotel Zone. The Coco Bongo Beach Party is a pool party overlooking the Caribbean in the same Plaza Forum complex at km 9.5, with DJs, the club's entertainment staff, contests and an open bar. Per the official booking system it opens Tuesday to Sunday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM (closed Monday), with check-in from 12:30 PM, holds about 3,000 people and is 18 and over.

ℹ️ Official prices in USD for Tuesday, October 20 and Saturday, October 24, 2026, checked on October 14, 2026. Some dates showed lower, discounted prices. Tips not included.

It is a party, not a beach day. If you are already going to Coco Bongo at night, the official site also sells a $25 Beach Party day add-on, usable within 7 days after your Coco Bongo night. If you want sand and sea instead, the free public beach right behind the complex is Playa Gaviota Azul, reached by the pedestrian alley beside Coco Bongo. The same company also runs Congo Bar, a smaller club on the strip that opens at 8:30 PM.

Getting to Coco Bongo and Getting Home Safely

Coco Bongo is at Blvd. Kukulcán km 9.5 #30, Plaza Forum by the Sea, in Punta Cancún, the corner of the Hotel Zone where the nightlife concentrates. Locals and guides call this block the Party Center, and the clubs run roughly from km 9 to km 12. It is about 23 km and 33 minutes by car from Cancún airport and about 11.7 km and 22 minutes from downtown without traffic, and about 200 m from the sand at Playa Gaviota Azul.

  • Taxi or ride-hailing: the official FAQ recommends taxis, Uber or Didi in Cancún. With a street taxi, agree the fare before you get in and pay in pesos.
  • Bus: Hotel Zone buses on routes R-1 and R-2 run along Boulevard Kukulcán, which is the cheapest option on the way there. At 3:00 AM most people take a taxi.
  • On foot: if you stay at Punta Cancún, the hotels around km 8.5 to 9.7 are within walking distance.

Safety at night

Entry to Coco Bongo includes security checks at the door, and the boulevard outside is busy and well lit until closing. The risks are the usual ones for a late night in a big party district: petty theft, drink-related incidents and getting separated from your group on the strip after midnight. The US State Department rates Quintana Roo at Level 2 (exercise increased caution) and advises extra caution in bars and nightclubs across Mexico.

  • Stay with your group, and agree a meeting point inside in case phones die.
  • Never leave a drink unattended, and decline drinks from strangers.
  • Carry your ID, one card and some pesos, not your whole wallet.
  • Buy tickets on the official site or from your booking confirmation, not from touts on the boulevard.
  • Use a ride-hailing app or a taxi from the rank, not a car that pulls over and offers.

Our guide to whether Cancún is safe covers the advisories and the nightclub strip in more detail.

Transport is not part of Coco Bongo's Cancún tickets. The official checkout lists a transport add-on for $10 to $15, but it returned no Cancún pickup hotels for the date we tested, and the FAQ points Cancún guests to taxis or ride-hailing, so ask when you book. The one bundle we found that does include the ride is Cancun Food Tours' night combo below, which includes transport, a 6:00 PM taco and beer tour and drops you at the Coco Bongo entrance with entry and 5 drinks included. If you would rather start the night on the water, the two-hour sunset sail from 5:30 PM includes hotel transport, an open bar and appetizers, and the galleon dinner cruise has departures between 4:00 and 8:00 PM.

How We Researched This Guide

Most Coco Bongo pages quote one price and an opening time copied from years ago. We pulled ticket tiers, inclusions, prices, opening hours, check-in times and age limits directly from Coco Bongo's official booking system for 15 Cancún dates between October 2026 and March 2027, plus sample dates for the Beach Party, the Kids Party and Playa del Carmen. The dress code, ID rule, show timing, payment and refund policies come from the official FAQ. Where the official sources disagree (the show start time), we say so rather than pick one.

For the experience on the night, we read 2026 reviews of resold Coco Bongo packages, a 2026 independent guide to the club for tipping and timing advice, and our own Cancún safety research. Distances come from our Mapbox measurements for the Playa Gaviota Azul guide, at the same km 9.5 address.

The nine tours were chosen for people planning a night out in Cancún. Each is active, rated at least 4.5 out of 5 on at least 50 reviews, and has reviews within the past six months. Resold Coco Bongo ticket packages were left out because every one we checked rated between 3.1 and 3.9.
