“leaving Royal Solaris was the hardest part.”
The service was excellent. The server Antonio was very attentive throughout our whole visit and took extra care of the older people in my group. Isabel who was outdoors cleaning was super nice. The bartenders Nestor was also super attentive ASK FOR HIS SPECIAL SHOT. Christian the Bartender was also nice, he helped us from a drunk guy hating on us for speaking English. The staff made us feel safe
I don’t like that everything is kinda closed after 12am. It’s really hard to get reservations to a restaurant for a large group of people. One of the members in my group fell outside due to wet floor and no staff ever came out to help or clean it up. I wish the entertainment was better. The key card stops working durning your stay sometimes. Sometimes the food is good but sometimes the food is not good. They run out drink supplies, whenever I would ask for something they would say something is missing for the drink, so I just kept ordering mango margaritas after that

“I just put family trips are HARD, but Royal Solaris is HARDER and that’s why we will be back!”
The service here was excellent! Our server, Antonio, was very attentive and took extra care of the older members of our group. Isabel, who was cleaning outdoors, was super nice. Bartenders Nestor and Christian were fantastic—Nestor was very attentive (make sure to ask for his special shot!), and Christian went above and beyond by stepping in to keep us safe and comfortable when an intoxicated guest was giving us a hard time. The entire staff made us feel completely secure and well-cared-for. We had an absolute blast at Royal Solaris, and it made it so hard to leave!
Key card stopped working during our stay multiple times. The food option can be better. It’s hard to get reservations for large groups. The entertainment stops at 12am

“Good value for a family trip”
The location: between the lagoon and the ocean makes up for the perfect view. It is not an enormous hotel, makes it easy and fun . The beach is gorgeous. Edgar, concierge in charge of us made the stay easy.
It is not a 50+ hotel. At all. Need to go to the Caribe Solaris. That is the hotel beside it.

It is one of the cheapest all-inclusives on the beach. In our price checks for three nights for two, all-inclusive with taxes included, a lagoon-view room cost $688 in mid-November 2026, $614 in mid-January 2027, $633 in mid-February, $643 in mid-March and $619 in mid-June. An ocean view cost about $30 more in January. Up to two children under 4 stay free in existing beds.

What Guests Say About Royal Solaris
Across 1,438 reviews, Royal Solaris holds an 8.8 out of 10. The 120 most recent reviews, from late April to mid-September 2026, average 8.5, with 57 perfect 10s and 13 scores of 5 or lower.
Families love the kids' club and the entertainment. Parents name the kids' club staff again and again and describe children who couldn't wait to go back each morning, plus a kids' pool with slides. Guests of all ages praise the entertainment team for water aerobics, dance classes, pool games, a Saturday foam party and evening shows. Many are repeat guests or members who come back for staff they now call friends.
The staff and the beach get high marks. Guests describe attentive waiters and bartenders, clean rooms and pools, a beach a few steps away with tractors clearing the seaweed, and views of both the lagoon and the sea. Several like that the resort is small and easy to get around.
The food is the big complaint. More than a dozen guests describe a repetitive, basic buffet, hot dishes served lukewarm, plastic cups at dinner and drinks made from syrups, and several found the à la carte restaurants hard to book. About seven say the rooms, bathrooms and lifts need a refresh. Others mention sunbeds reserved with towels, a pool that feels too warm in summer, thin walls between connecting rooms, and calls pushing tours or membership presentations.
What You Should Know
- Book à la carte dinners in the app as soon as you arrive. Guests say tables go fast, especially for large groups.
- Use the snack bar and the pizza. Several guests who disliked the buffet liked the pizzas and the snacks.
- Say no to the membership presentation. Guests describe repeated calls and offers, and one warned it costs a lot of time.
- Bring pesos or a card. The hotel does not take US dollars in cash.
