Live Aqua is an adults-only all-inclusive at Km 12.5, across the road from La Isla shopping centre. Guests score it 9.4 out of 10 across 1,476 reviews, with 9.95 for service, and a striking number come back for a fifth, eighth or even 35th stay. It is quiet rather than a party resort, and the best pool beds cost extra. Check live prices for your dates below.
Why Guests Choose It
- Service scores 9.95 out of 10 in its review analysis, and guests name butlers, pool servers, bartenders and chefs one by one. Many are repeat visitors: recent reviewers were on their 4th, 8th and even 35th stay.
- Adults only, and calm. Guests describe background music you can talk over, a compact layout that is easy to walk, and daytime activities like aqua aerobics, bingo and tequila tasting rather than a party scene.
- Restaurants guests rave about: MB (the habanero cream soup comes up again and again), Hidden Garden for Asian food, Varenna for Italian, and a breakfast buffet with a fresh smoothie bar.
- The location: directly across the road from La Isla shopping centre, with the aquarium and the Hotel Zone's restaurants within walking distance.
- Room quality and value for money both score above 9.4 in its review analysis, well ahead of food (8.98) and cleanliness (8.48).
Best for
- Couples who want a quiet, adults-only resort with very good food
- Travellers who will pay for Aqua Club to get a butler and dinner reservations handled

“Great Option for Cancun”
Breakfast options were excellent with a wide variety of fresh international foods. Other restaurants were also good, with the highlights being the Italian and seafood restaurant. A daytime grill and taqueria rounded out some good food options. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, clean, and spacious, with free daily snacks, refrigerator, and safe box. Reliable hot water and thermostat. Beautiful views of the pool area and ocean. Pool area itself was as nice as you would suspect. Adequate gym.
Nighttime entertainment options could've been more robust. As far I recall there's only one club/bar on the resort. It hosted a silent party one night and a regular party the next. They also provided one evening show (a circus show that I wound up missing). On the flipside, the resort is about a 10-minute walk from another nightclub that was pretty hoppin, if that's your jam. And of course, "all-inclusive" really means "all-inclusive, except for...." That is to be expected. Just be prepared to pack some extra cash if you want to rent a cabana or make reservations at the premium steakhouse.

The beach
The resort is overpriced for what you get . It’s not very nice and smelled awful in the front .

I loved how welcoming and kind everyone was. Questions asked were quickly answered by the staff and met with a smile. The pools, views, and dining were amazing. Poolside drinks, multiple dining options, and dinner meals were curated with care. An awesome resort designed to take overthinking and overplanning out of the equation!
I thought the birds were too comfortable around the pools and beach area. They were bathing in the pools at various times.

“The place to relax and be pampered.”
Nice size: not so big that you’re spending half the day going from place to place. The pools were nice and not crowded. The property is not a party zone: there was some background music but you could hold a conversation and, most importantly, relax. The staff was extremely helpful with everything. You couldn’t do better

The view upgrades are cheap. For a three-night stay in mid-March 2027, each step up cost $68: Garden View $1,924, Partial Ocean View $1,992, Ocean View $2,060 and Ocean Front $2,128. The terrace added another $45. So going from the garden to the front row cost about $200 for the whole stay. A couple in a Garden View room still had a sea view, and one guest in Partial Ocean View said the view was "certainly partial" but enough. In May, one guest found a tree blocking part of their Ocean Front view, so ask for a higher floor if the view is the point.
Aqua Club is the upgrade guests recommend most. Club rooms come with butlers, who book dinners, cabanas and spa times by WhatsApp, plus a fifth-floor club lounge with snacks, drinks and private check-in. One couple's verdict: "Aqua Club is a must if you want dinner reservations." In mid-January it cost $97 more than an Ocean Front terrace room for three nights. Not everyone got the full service, though: one couple saw their butlers only once.
Book early for high season. On our mid-November 2026 dates, only the Ocean Front rooms were left, from $2,382 for three nights. In June 2027 the same stay started at $1,584. All five dates were all-inclusive only, with about 20% in taxes and fees added at checkout. No suites were on sale on any of our dates.
What Guests Say About Live Aqua
Across 1,476 reviews, Live Aqua scores 9.4 out of 10. Its review analysis rates service and overall experience highest, at 9.95 each, and cleanliness lowest, at 8.48. We read the 104 most recent reviews that included text, from mid-May to mid-September 2026.
Loyalty is the striking thing. A striking number of reviewers describe repeat stays, and they name the same people: the butlers, the pool-hut team, the entertainment host who runs bingo and tequila tastings, and the man at the breakfast smoothie bar.
The food splits guests more than the service does. MB, Hidden Garden and Varenna draw the strongest praise, and several guests say the food beats other all-inclusives they have tried. Critics find the cocktails sweet and syrupy, the beer not cold enough, and some restaurants average. Two May and June reviews describe stomach illness, one of them saying several guests fell ill at once and the head chef questioned them about what they ate.
The pool area is the most common complaint. A large share of the pool and beach beds are paid cabanas, which guests put at about $100 to $120 a day, and the free loungers go early. One guest says it wasn't clear which beds were paid until staff pointed it out. Guests also mention sales pitches at check-in, sargassum on some summer days, and the odd room with weak air-conditioning or low water pressure.
What You Should Know
- Ask at check-in which pool beds are free. One couple who used a paid bed by mistake was asked to pay the next morning, and the free ones are claimed early.
- If you are offered a room upgrade at check-in, get the price in writing. One couple had to re-argue a negotiated rate at the desk on the morning they left.
- Pack long trousers for dinner and flip-flops for the beach restaurant. Guests ran into a dress code at one restaurant and a footwear rule at the seafood restaurant.
- Book excursions before you go. One couple was quoted $149 a person at the hotel for an Isla Mujeres trip they later found for $39 online.
Getting to Live Aqua
Live Aqua is at Km 12.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán, in the middle of the Hotel Zone, directly across the road from La Isla shopping centre. Guests walk to the mall, the aquarium, the Ferris wheel and a 7-Eleven, and one guest walked about 10 minutes to a nightclub. Inside, note that the lift banks serve different floors, so check which one goes to yours.
Transfers from Cancún airport to the Hotel Zone usually take 20 to 35 minutes. Our Cancún airport transfer guide compares shuttles, private vans and taxis, and Live Aqua's butlers helped some guests arrange airport transport.
The beach faces the open Caribbean. Guests in June and July described sargassum on some days and clear water on others; see our Cancún sargassum season guide. For day trips such as Isla Mujeres, compare prices in our Isla Mujeres guide before booking at the hotel desk.
