Secrets The Vine Cancún (Adults Only)

Secrets The Vine's standard rooms are the Deluxe rooms, 44 m², with a king bed for two or two queens for up to three. They are sold as Partial Ocean View or Ocean View, and each comes in a Preferred Club version on higher floors. The suites start at 66 m².

"Ocean View" doesn't always mean a straight view. Several recent guests in Ocean View rooms, including Preferred Club ones, found their view was partial, to the side, or over the lagoon and city, and one couple in a side room heard the busier resort next door. If the view matters, ask for a high floor facing the sea when you book. In June 2027, Partial Ocean View cost $78 less than Ocean View for three nights ($1,302 against $1,380).

Preferred Club is a gamble. It adds butlers, a club lounge with premium drinks, the 12th-floor pool and Olio restaurant. Some guests call it the best part of their stay and worth the upgrade. Others found the lounge small and crowded, one server for a busy club pool, and butlers they rarely saw. If you upgrade, check in your first hour that you're getting what you paid for.

Pick a rate labelled all-inclusive. Secrets sells all-inclusive stays, but on four of our five dates some non-refundable rates came back labelled "Room Only" at almost the same price, and we couldn't confirm what they include. In mid-January 2027 an all-inclusive Deluxe Ocean View room started at $1,641 for three nights, plus about 15% in taxes and fees. On our mid-November dates, only suites were left, from $1,760. Note that the resort charges the full stay if you leave early.

Across 1,378 reviews, Secrets The Vine scores 9.2 out of 10, with perfect 10s for service, location and overall experience and its lowest score, 7.92, for food. Recent reviews are more divided than the headline: of the 120 most recent, 58 gave a perfect 10 and 17 gave 4 or lower. We read the 104 that included text, from late June to mid-September 2026.

The people get the praise. Guests name butlers, front-desk staff, pool servers and above all the entertainment team, who run volleyball, pool blackjack, wine tastings and classes by day, with live bands and shows at night. The gym and the spa's hydrotherapy circuit also get strong reviews.

Food and drink are the main complaint. Guests are split on the food itself, with Olio, Bluewater Grill, Sea Salt Grill and the sushi at Dragons named as highlights and many others calling it bland. The more consistent complaints are about access: restaurants closed on some nights without notice, waits of 30 to 60 minutes for a table, and reservations offered only if you buy a bottle of wine. Several guests found the spirits basic or watered down, and alcohol isn't served before 10am.

Upselling and upkeep are the other themes. Guests describe pitches for room upgrades at check-in, wine bottles, paid dinners, the spa and a 90-minute vacation-club presentation. Several describe air-conditioning that wouldn't cool below the mid-70s °F, worn furniture, missing pool tiles and broken umbrellas, and a bathroom walled in glass with little privacy.

Secrets The Vine is at Km 14.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán, in the southern half of the Hotel Zone, close to the airport by Cancún standards. The R1 and R2 buses stop outside and run along the Hotel Zone to the Punta Cancún nightlife strip, the shopping malls and the Isla Mujeres ferry; guests paid about $1 each way.

The beach faces the open Caribbean. Guests in summer 2026 describe weeks with heavy sargassum, though one says staff cleared it several times a day, and others watched turtles hatch on the beach.
