The rooftop and the pool are absolutely stunning! The bedroom was really comfortable and the whole infrastructure of the place is new and functioning.
Having to ask for drinks during breakfast seems more like an excuse to justify the tips, but other than that the food was top notch

Beautiful new hotel not on the beach but close to La Isla doing area. Rooms are modern and comfortable and quiet, showers work well great water pressure, Nespresso coffee maker in room. Pool and bar on the roof top, food and drinks great. Breakfasts was included when booking but limited selections, omelettes made to order were good. Some of the other selections were cold, not worth it if you have to pay for it. Also good location for CDS dental patients.

“Awesome ex experience In Cancun”
Wow! I could’ve not asked for a better experience then I got here. They were fantastic. service here was exceptional. The environment they created in the rooftop bar was unbelievable. We even had a mariachi show up during the World Cup.. Jose Gregorio Canche was our host at the rooftop bar and gave us 5 hours of exceptional nonstop service. The breakfast buffet was top-of-the-line. Everything was excellent if you’re going to Cancun, you have to stay at this hotel.

Compare the breakfast and refundable rates. In our price checks for three nights for two, the cheapest non-refundable room-only rate was $489 in mid-November 2026, $605 to $608 from January to March 2027 and $489 in mid-June 2027, plus $15 to $54 in fees. A refundable room cost $573 to $729, and on every date we checked there was a breakfast-included rate for about the same price as the cheapest refundable room only, so check before you book. One guest paid $28 for breakfast on the spot and found it thin.
Pick a Sunset Bay view for the evenings. Guests describe the lagoon sunsets from the rooftop as the hotel's best feature, and one couple chose it partly for the view of the Ferris wheel next door.

Across 606 reviews, Canopy La Isla holds a 9.2 out of 10. The 120 most recent reviews, from late November 2025 to August 2026, average 8.8, with 75 perfect 10s and ten scores of 5 or lower. Many of those 10s are short thank-yous to the spa therapist or the restaurant staff, some from people staying elsewhere, so we weighed the longer hotel reviews more.
Guests love the rooftop, the staff and the location. They describe a modern, clean hotel with comfortable, quiet rooms, good showers and a rooftop infinity pool, hot tub and bar with sunset views, where the hotel threw World Cup watch parties in June 2026. They name front-desk, bar and breakfast staff, and like walking straight into La Isla and catching the bus nearby.
The beach is the main misunderstanding. The hotel is on the lagoon, not the sea. Two reviews from December 2025 say the guests had been told by phone that it had beach access with loungers and were upset to find it did not; other guests walked about 10 minutes to a public beach.
The other complaints are about the basics. Several guests found no drinking water, slippers or bin in the room and had to ask for towels, a few describe worn rooms or broken fittings, and breakfast divided opinion, from excellent to poor value. A few were unhappy with the front desk, including a two-hour wait to check in, and two found the pool closed or taken over by a private party.
What You Should Know
- Do not book this for the beach. It sits on the lagoon side, and the nearest public beach is about a 10-minute walk.
- Check whether breakfast is included. Hilton Honors members with status may get it free, and some breakfast rates cost no more than a refundable room-only rate.
- Ask about rooftop events. The pool has been closed for a New Year's party and used for a private event.
- Book a massage. The spa therapist is the most-praised person in the reviews.

Canopy La Isla is at Km 12.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán, in the middle of the Hotel Zone, attached to La Isla shopping centre on the Nichupté Lagoon side of the road. Live Aqua is across the boulevard, city buses stop close by, and guests found Ubers easy to get. The nearest public beach is about a 10-minute walk.
