Bacalar in January (2027): Weather, Cold Fronts, Prices & Best Things to Do
January is dry-season Bacalar: warm afternoons, cool mornings, quiet water most days and the latest sunrises of the year. The catches are the New Year price peak, which ends on January 4 in our hotel sample, and the odd cold front that brings wind, cloud and a choppy lagoon for a day or two.

Bacalar in February (2027): Weather, Sailing, Prices & Best Things to Do

Bacalar in March (2027): Weather, Semana Santa, Prices & Best Things to Do
March is Bacalar's driest month: warm water, clear skies and the lagoon's colours at their most reliable. The catch is Semana Santa, Mexico's biggest domestic holiday, which falls on March 21 to 28 in 2027 and pushes up rates at about half the hotels we tracked.

Bacalar in April (2027): Weather, Post-Easter Value, Prices & Best Things to Do
April is Bacalar after the holidays: still dry, hotter by the week, with warm water and quieter docks once the Easter school break ends on April 2. Hotel rates hold or fall, and the trick is timing your day around the heat.

Bacalar in May (2027): Weather, First Rains, Prices & Best Things to Do
May is the start of Bacalar's low season: hot, quiet and still mostly sunny, with the first rains arriving and a strong afternoon wind on the lagoon. Hotel rates hold or fall, and the best of the day is the early morning.

Bacalar in June (2027): Weather, Rainy Season, Prices & Best Things to Do
June is Bacalar's rainy season in full: storms on 10 to 13 days, heat and humidity, but also the longest days of the year, warm water and some of the quietest docks. Hotel rates stay at or below the dry season until the summer holidays push them up from July 1.

July is Bacalar's summer-holiday month: hotel rates rise from July 1, the docks fill with families, and the weather is hot with storms on 9 to 12 days, though less rain than June. The mornings, and a private boat for groups, are the way to enjoy it.
